If you're looking for that perfect romantic break, you can't get much better than Teignmouth. Watch the sunrise (at a respectable hour), take a walk along the beachfront, explore the quirky shops in the Arts quarter, watch the sunset with a drink at one of the back beach pubs and enjoy dinner in an intimate restaurant.
Here are some suggestions on how to make the most of Valentine's in and around Teignmouth.
Where to watch the sunrise and sunset
With its east-facing front beach and west-facing back beach, Teignmouth is perfectly placed to catch the perfect sunrise or sunset. Head to the main beach and walk along the seawall towards the Teignmouth 'Letters' to watch the sunrise over the sea. Or if you'd prefer a lie-in and leisurely breakfast, opt for watching the sunset from the river beach. Wrap up warm and enjoy a drink outside the Ship Inn and wonder in the amazing colours as the sun sinks over Dartmoor, casting beautiful shades of red and pink over the boats bobbing on the River Teign.
