And while the food is absolutely divine, the location is absolutely perfect too. Inside is an intimate, marine-themed restaurant, perfect for a romantic dinner, while outside on the decking you're practically on the beach and perfectly placed to watch the sunset over the River Teign with views stretching all the way up to Dartmoor. This is a restaurant not to be missed.

Street Food and Take Away

For the best take-away food in Teignmouth you need to head to the back beach near the lifeboat station where you'll find three shacks serving some of the best, freshly cooked and locally sourced food. They are:

With a range of authentic Thai rice and noodle dishes freshly cooked to order while you wait, this is the perfect place to grab a delicious bite to eat while enjoying the sun on the back beach. And if you don't fancy waiting for your food to cook, you can even phone ahead.

LJ's Beach Shack

Lifeboat Lane, Teignmouth

Famed for its dirty fries and delicious burgers and wraps and with the surf boards leaning up outside, LJs is the epitome of beach-side eating. These are definitely not greasy spoon burgers!
